What we do
Founded in 2010, 33:Design is a full-service* architecture and design firm specializing in adaptive reuse, historic preservation & restoration, renovations and new construction. That’s our fancy way of saying that we do a bit of everything, but our first love is taking something old with beautiful bones and making it meet the needs of the present. We like to think of ourselves as problem solvers. 33:Design believes that design is a fluid part of everyday life. That sounds pretty, but what does it really mean? It means that design—whether it’s graphic, product or spatial—and construction are interrelated. That informs how we feel about collaboration: We do it. We like it. We believe in working closely with design professionals, artists and builders to provide the best design team for each project, and the most appropriate solution to each design challenge.
And we think we’re pretty fun to grab a beer with.
*Call us old-fashioned, but at 33:Design, we believe in seeing a job through to the end. We will happily take you through all phases of a design project: from design concept to development of that design to construction documents coordinated with all the necessary engineering. We work with contractors and builders during construction to ensure successful completion of a project. We can do this in the traditional design-bid-build capacity as a construction administrator or as part of a design/build team. We also love helping with feasibility studies, master planning, visualizations, LEED certification, and the Baltimore City Green Building Standards.
